My park background was steamed today and is ready for use.

I captured a shot of me in the process of steaming. You can see light from the windows behind and the wet spots left from drips off the steamer head. I call this one black & pastel streaks.

I also have already used my new black one (band photo below) and my greenhouse one (pet session below). The greenhouse one still needs a more thorough steaming.

Pet Session

Did a pet session on Saturday. Jericho didn't like my plans, but when we were discussing options, he jumped up and said "OK, now"!

I was 2nd shooter for this wedding on Friday the 16th. I have lots of images to post-process yet, but I really liked this one.

HS Band Portraits

Took the band portraits on Friday. Working on post-production for the final products now.

Impromptu Pet Session

After doing walking club accounts, I took them out to the park and got this great shot.

This energetic 18-month old had fun in his session and I had fun too.

Did a senior session at Yankee Springs State Rec Area. This was a reschedule because our original session was rained out.

Tara May was my fantastic 3 yr-old model. After her shoot, I got these cuties together.

I did a model session for my children's program. Joe, age 5, did a great job as a model for me!

Moving UP

Did this quick model session after rushing home from my kids' band concert in order to catch the last of the evening sun. The lilacs are gorgeous and should remain so for another week. If you want to get your portrait done in front of the lilacs, let me know quick!

Antiquing

I did a walk thru our local antiques district and found this kid bench in the back of a booth. It is sturdy, so kids can sit on it or we can put stuffed animals on it with the child sitting on the floor near it. It adds some cute options to the child portraits.

National Charity Model Search

Is your child America’s Cutest Kid?

Photos by Chelane is participating in the National Charity Model Search to select “America’s Cutest Kid” and to raise funds for charity.

We’re looking for cute children ages 18 months to 14 years old to model for a portrait to be entered into the contest.

Models Search Special:

$20 entrance fee, which includes a 45 minute model session and one image submitted to the national gallery.

Finalists will be determined by online votes. Anyone may vote. Each vote is $1, and all proceeds from votes benefit the non-profit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. (NILMDTS.org)

Grand prize national winner will be determined from the 50 city finalists. Winners selected by photography and modeling industry experts.

If your child is selected the national winner, you’ll receive many prizes, including a $5,000 US Savings Bond and a Canon PowerShot G10 digital camera.

In January, I had a great time at Imaging USA, a convention for professional photographers that was held in Phoenix. The warm weather was a great break from the steady snow showers.

I attended workshops on all sorts of topics from retouching to posing and more. I got some great ideas about doing babies and HS Seniors. I picked up another background (beige this time) and a new tripod.

Over Christmas, I did a day of shooting for my extended family (mom's side) in Alabama. The image here is from that session.
